Farnham Foodbank (www.farnhamfoodbank.org.uk) is an initiative set up by Christians from churches across the town to alleviate the delay between people being identified as in financial crisis and state support becoming available to them. Linking in with a national network and other NGOs and statutory organisations, Farnham Foodbank has the expertise to provide compassionate yet professional relief to people in the greatest short term need, and to fulfil the guiding principles of restoring dignity and reviving hope. Foodbanks (www.trusselltrust.org/foodbank-projects) are a practical way to engage with the community around us, fostering links not only with those directly benefitting from the food, but with local schools, supermarkets, churches and the general public. The Farnham Foodbank Distribution Centre is at the Vineyard Centre, Farnham GU9 7PT.
